Sudden Death of 50 Year Old Man in Hamilton Parish [Updated]

Around 3:35am today (November 12th) police and fellow first responders attended a reported medical emergency at a Mount Wyndham Drive, Hamilton parish residence.

It appears that a 50 year old male resident was found in an unresponsive state inside an apartment on the property.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.

No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time, pending notification of his next of kin.

The scene has been processed by the relevant police personnel and inquiries commenced.

Update: Tuesday, November 13th - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 50 year old Mr. Leonard Wayne and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Wayne was found in an unresponsive state inside an apartment at a Mount Wyndham Drive, Hamilton parish property around 3:35am Monday, November 12th and later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.

Foul play is not suspected and a cause of death is being examined.

Reported Disturbance on North Shore Road in Devonshire

Around 1:45am Monday, November 12th police officers responded to a reported disturbance on North Shore Road in Devonshire.

Initial information suggested that an altercation involving several individuals was underway in the parking lot of the former Clayhouse Inn.

On arrival no commotion was seen, but several persons were found in the area.

They subsequently dispersed. Any witnesses are asked to call 295-0011.

Reported Incident on the Causeway Sunday Night

Around 9:30pm Sunday, November 11th police officers were dispatched to a reported incident on the Causeway.

Initial information suggested that a collision occurred involving motorcycles and that the individuals concerned were fighting each other.

On police arrival no one was found at the scene, but a damaged motorcycle was located.

A search of the surrounding area did not find any injured persons and a check of the hospital confirmed no one attended seeking medical treatment following the incident.

Car Overturns on St. David’s Road Sunday Evening

Around 6:15pm Sunday, November 11th police, fire and ambulance personnel were dispatched to a reported single vehicle car crash on St. David’s Road in St. George’s.

It appears that the vehicle involved was being driven in the westbound lane of St. David’s Road when it overturned in the vicinity of Chapel of Ease Road, ending up on its side.

The driver, said to be a 54 year old man, was treated at the scene for a minor hand injury.

The damaged car was later towed away. Any witnesses are asked to call 295-0011.
