Reported Two Vehicle Collision on Harrington Sound Road [Updated]

A collision has been reported on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish in the vicinity of Tom Moore’s Tavern.

Early information indicates that a car and a van were involved, with any injuries believed to be non-life threatening at this time.

Traffic diversions are currently in effect and motorists are advised to take alternate routes if possible until further notice.

An update will be provided when additional details are available.

Update: It now appears that three people were hurt - the driver of the minibus involved, a passenger in the minibus and the driver of the car involved.

All three were apparently transported to hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

An update on their medical conditions is anticipated in due course.

The damaged vehicles are expected to be towed away shortly, allowing normal traffic flow in the area to resume.

Update: Wednesday, May 8th - Around 6:20pm Tuesday, May 7th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish – not Smith’s parish as originally stated.

Apparently the car and minibus involved collided near Walsingham Lane, in the vicinity of Tom Moore’s Tavern.

The driver of the car, the driver of the minibus and a passenger in the minibus – said to be a 36 year old Warwick woman, a 61 year old Hamilton parish man and a 33 year old American man respectively – were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries and later discharged.

Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately an hour and a half, until the damaged vehicles were towed away.
