Reported Serious 50cc Scooter Crash [Updated]

A few minutes before 8pm police and and first responders attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place at the Spanish Point Park in Pembroke.

Initial reports suggest a 30 year old male was riding in the park and as a result lost control of his cycle and collided with a wall to the side of the park.

The rider was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and his injuries are considered serious. At present the relevant officers are processing the scene and more information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.

Update: Thursday, April 19th - At last check this morning (April 19th) the male rider hurt in a single vehicle 50cc scooter crash in Spanish Point Park around 8pm Wednesday, April 18th – now believed to be a 32 year old Smith’s parish man – was still receiving treatment at the hospital, listed in stable condition.

Currently his injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.
