Reported Burglaries at Three Primary Schools

Detectives are currently conducting inquiries into reported burglaries at Victor Scott Primary School, Paget Primary School and West Pembroke Primary School.

Initial information suggests that the burglaries occurred sometime between Wednesday night (March 21st) and early Thursday morning (March 22nd).

At this time it is unclear what, if anything was taken from the three schools.

Witnesses or persons with relevant information are encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.

In addition, any member of the public who sees any suspicious activity around any of the island’s schools is asked to report it immediately to the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Three Vehicle Collision in Pembroke

Around 11am Thursday, March 22nd police and first responders attended a reported three vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the junction with First Church Lane.

It appears that a Government vehicle was stationary on North Shore Road when a car being driven in the eastbound lane collided into the back of it, and then a motorcyclist traveling in the same direction collided into the back of the car.

The female passenger of the Government vehicle, believed to be a 41 year old Warwick woman, was apparently injured. She was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, treated and later discharged.

There were no other injuries reported. However, all three vehicles involved were damaged, as well as a nearby wall.

Two Visitors Hurt in Sandys Parish Collision

Around 1:30pm on Thursday, March 22nd police and first responders attended a reported collision on Middle Road in Sandys parish near the junction with George’s Bay Road.

It appears that two rental (50cc) auxiliary cycles were being ridden along Middle Road in the westbound lane when a car driver attempted to exit a nearby driveway.

Apparently one of the rental cycle riders collided with the car, while the other rental cycle rider following behind attempted to stop suddenly and fell to the ground.

A 50 year old visiting American woman riding one of the rental cycles was hurt and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check this morning (March 23rd) she was recovering in stable condition on a general ward.

Her pillion passenger, a 12 year old visiting American boy, was not injured and the rider of the other rental cycle, a 72 year old visiting American man, sustained relatively minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

The three are visiting from Colorado and there were no other injuries reported. However all three vehicles involved were damaged.

18 Year Old Now Recovering on General Ward After March 12th Crash

At last check this morning (March 23rd) the 18 year old woman that was seriously hurt in a single vehicle car crash that occurred around 10:20pm Monday, March 12th on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Clarendon Road, continued to recover in stable condition on a general ward, after initially receiving treatment in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

The investigation continues and any witnesses or persons that have not already come forward with information about this crash – which injured the vehicle’s five passengers as well as the driver, who was initially arrested on suspicion of impaired driving – are still encouraged to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.
