Police Appeal for Witnesses to Disturbance at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club Grounds

Police attended a disturbance at the Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club grounds in Hamilton Parish around 8pm Wednesday, 26th June resulting in three men and one woman being arrested.

Two of those persons (a 35 year old woman and a 25 year old man) appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, June 27th). Both were charged with assaulting police and released on court bail until their next scheduled court appearance.

The other two arrested persons (a 37 year old man and a 28 year old man) have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A 31 year old man that injured his hand in a door at the club during the incident was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

22 Year Old Male Motorcyclist Remains Critical in ICU [Updated]

At last check this morning (June 27th) the 22 year old male motorcyclist and off duty Constable seriously injured in a single vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred around 2:45am Sunday, June 23rd on Crow Lane in Pembroke remained in critical condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Update: Wednesday, July 3rd - At last check this morning (July 3rd) the 22 year old off duty male Constable seriously injured in a single vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred around 2:45am Sunday, June 23rd on Crow Lane in Pembroke continued to recover in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and is now listed in stable condition.

Upcoming Road Sobriety Checkpoints: July 5th – 7th

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public that the next series of road sobriety checkpoints (as specified in the Official Gazette Notice Thursday, June 27th) will be conducted starting next Friday, July 5th.

The checkpoints will be in effect in Hamilton parish, Devonshire, Pembroke, Paget, Warwick and Southampton on Friday, July 5th, Saturday, July 6th and Sunday, July 7th.
