Motorists Once Again Advised to Be Vigilant for Motorcycle Bandit

Wed, 2019-10-16

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of a few recent incidents where a male motorcyclist has confronted car drivers claiming that they were in collision with his motorcycle – or alternatively crossed into his path, forcing him off the road – causing damage to his motorcycle.

He then demands that the ‘offending’ motorist give him money to repair the alleged damage to his motorcycle. This same activity occurred approximately one year ago.

The latest two known incidents occurred this week – one in the Collectors Hill, Smith’s parish area and one in the Verdmont Road, Smith’s parish area.

Motorists are encouraged to report any collision to police where similar circumstances are involved, to avoid being taken advantage of by this individual.

Any witnesses or persons with any information regarding these latest incidents are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.

Residents Advised to Remain Vigilant Regarding Residential Burglaries

The Bermuda Police Service would like to remind the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries following recent reported incidents in various parishes – particularly in Warwick.

In the latest incidents, cash and electronic items have been among the items taken.

Residents are reminded to secure their homes by ensuring all windows and doors are locked before leaving their property unattended.

Remember, thieves are opportunistic and travel down the path of least resistance.

Take away the opportunity and minimize your risk.

Suspicious individuals or activity seen in any neighbourhood should be reported immediately to the nearest police station or the main police telephone number 295-0011.
