Police and other first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Middle Road in Southampton 200 meters west of Barnes Corner at 4:15pm today (Saturday).

It appears that a male on a motorcycle was traveling west on Middle Road when he collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction.

As a result he was conveyed to the hospital via ambulance and his condition is classified as serious.

Traffic is presently being managed by police and there are major delays in the area whilst the scene is being processed.

Update: Sunday, May 6th - At last check 5pm Saturday (May 5th) the male motorcyclist injured in a collision with a car that occurred around 4:15pm Saturday on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Middle Road – in the vicinity of Barnes Corner – was said to be conscious and aware of his surroundings while receiving treatment at the hospital.
