Motorcyclist Hurt in Somerset Road Collision Stable on General Ward

At last check this afternoon (March 8th) a 28 year old male motorcyclist – said to be a Warwick resident – hurt in a collision with a car and another motorcycle around 7am Thursday, March 7th on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Wilson Place remained in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital, recovering from a leg injury.

Initial information suggested that the injured man was 35 year old.

The driver of the car and the rider of the other motorcycle involved were not hurt.

However, all three vehicles were damaged.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are still asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Two Vehicle Collision on North Shore Road in Smith’s Parish [Updated]

Around 12:15pm Thursday, March 7th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Store Hill.

Details remain limited at this time. However, it appears that a car and a van were involved and that there were two people in the car when the collision occurred.

Initial information suggested that any injuries sustained did not appear to be life threatening.

An update to clarify the medical status of both vehicles’ occupants is anticipated in due course.

Traffic was diverted away from the area while the scene was processed.

Update: Monday,. March 11th - It has now been confirmed that no one was injured in a two vehicle collision that occurred around 12:15pm Thursday, March 7th on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Store Hill.

The crash involved a 78 year old female car driver, her husband (passenger) and a 40 year old male van driver. It appears that the car and the van were being driven in opposite directions along North Shore Road when the collision occurred, resulting in damage to both vehicles.

While the car’s male passenger was not hurt, he was transported to hospital via ambulance as a precaution – due to a pre-existing medical condition – and later discharged. Any witnesses are still asked to call 295-0011.
