Fri, 2019-10-11

Around 7:50am Thursday, October 10th police officers and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Cable Hill.

It appears that a motorcyclist was traveling west on North Shore Road behind a truck being driven in the same direction when the truck driver attempted to make a right turn and the vehicles collided, in the vicinity of the former Clayhouse Inn.

The motorcyclist is then understood to have struck a wall.

The injured rider, said to be a 21 year old Hamilton parish man, apparently sustained a head laceration as well as arm and leg abrasions.

He was transported, conscious and alert, to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

The truck driver, said to be a 34 year old Pembroke man, was not hurt.

Both vehicles were damaged and traffic flow in the area was reduced to one lane while the scene was processed.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are still encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.
