Motorcyclist Dies After Reported South Road, Warwick Crash [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place at 6:03pm today at the junction of South Road and Warwick Lane in Warwick.

Details are unclear at present but it appears that as a result of the collision the male motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

The area has been cordoned off while the scene is being processed by the relevant officers.

No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.

Update: Wednesday, November 29th - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 52 year old Roel Flores and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Flores, a Filipino guest worker, was apparently involved in a single vehicle motorcycle crash at the junction of South Road and Warwick Lane in Warwick around 6pm Tuesday, 28th November.

He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ‎ambulance but sadly later pronounced dead.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the deceased’s family at this difficult time. The motorcycle involved has been impounded pending further enquiries.

The investigation continues into this fatal collision, the 15th of 2017, and any witnesses or persons with relevant information are encouraged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.

Update: Thursday, November 30th - The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that the autopsy of 52 year old Filipino guest worker Mr. Roel Flores has been completed. The results verify that he died of natural causes.

As such, the death of Mr. Flores is no longer classified as a road traffic fatality. Accordingly, the number of fatal collisions so far this year remains at 14.
