Man Stabbed, Woman Arrested: Incident at Gulfstream Housing Complex [Updated]

Around 8:20pm Saturday, November 23rd police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported stabbing at the Gulfstream multi-unit rooming house on Tommy Fox Road in St. George’s.

It appears that two individuals – believed to be a 34 year old St. George’s man and a 29 year old St. George’s woman – were involved in a verbal dispute which turned physical, with the woman apparently stabbing the man in his upper torso with a knife.

It was also reported that the 29 year old woman got into a scuffle with a 28 year old St. George’s woman, scratching the younger woman’s neck during the incident.

Security personnel at the premises intervened, detaining the 29 year old woman and seizing the knife until police arrived.

It is understood that the three residents involved are known to each other.

Emergency medical technicians provided first aid to the 34 year old man on site, before he was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injury. He was later discharged.

The scene has been processed.

The 29 year old woman was arrested and remains in police custody at this time, pending further inquiries by the Criminal Investigation Department.

A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Update: Monday, November 25th - A 29 year old female resident of the Gulfstream multi-unit rooming house arrested for stabbing a 34 year old male resident around 8:20pm Saturday, November 23rd has been released on police bail, pending further inquiries by the Criminal Investigation Department.
