Man Arrested After Attempted Armed Robbery at Game Time St. George's [Updated]

Police responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery that took place at 1:30pm at Game Time on Water Street in St. George’s, where a man entered the establishment brandishing a bladed article and demanded money.

Staff members wrestled the suspect to the ground but he managed to flee on foot, empty handed.

There were no reported injuries.

A 22 year old man was subsequently arrested in the Turkey Hill, St. George’s area in connection with this incident.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter as inquiries continue.

Update: Friday, October 5th - Please note, yesterday the BPS reported that a female worker fought off a male who entered into Game Time and brandished a weapon and made demands of money. We would like to amend the report to reflect: "two men" in the store at the time of the incident came to the aid of the female worker and assisted, in fending off the assailant. We would like to thank those two men and woman who worked together to ensure no one was hurt. An investigation into the matter is ongoing. Police are still interested in speaking to anyone who may have information about this incident and encourage them to contact police on 295-0011.
