The Bermuda Police Service is aware of a video circulating on social media showing a motorcyclist riding up to a car and briefly opening the driver’s door.

Information provided to police indicates that around 7:30pm Friday, February 1st two cars were being driven east along York Street, St. George’s when a male motorcyclist, riding in the same direction, made a brief attempt to open the driver’s door of the first car.

He was unsuccessful, as that vehicle’s door was locked.

However, the same male motorcyclist then rode up to the second car and was successful in briefly opening the driver’s door of that vehicle, before riding off.

Inquiries are underway and either of the car drivers involved in this incident as well as the individual that recorded the event on video are encouraged to come forward.

As a reminder – in general, and for safety purposes – it is recommended that drivers keep their doors locked while their vehicle is in motion.

Any motorist that encounters any similar unusual behaviour while driving or riding is encouraged to call and report details of the incident to the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity – or 911 in an emergency.
