Around 5:25pm Monday, November 5th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision at the Barkers Hill round-a-bout in Devonshire.

It now appears that the motorcyclist and car driver involved were each attempting to negotiate the round-a-bout when the collision occurred.

The injured rider, a 49 year old woman believed to be from Devonshire, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later discharged.

The car driver, a 42 year old man believed to be from St. George’s, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving but later passed the alco-analyser test at Hamilton Police Station.

He has since been released from police custody pending further inquiries.

Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately one hour while the scene was processed.

Any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.
