Incident on Marsh Lane [Updated]

At 9:45pm police responded to a report of an incident that took place on Marsh Lane in Devonshire in the area of Ornamental Iron Works.
It appears that a male on a motorcycle came to the attention of police resulting in the rider taking police on a high speed chase. The rider subsequently ditched his motorcycle and ran into Devonshire Marsh.
Police officers recovered what appears to be a firearm and at present a manhunt has commenced in the area.
The scene is active with officers looking for the suspect.

Update: Friday, March 20th - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm that the item recovered last night following a brief police pursuit in the Marsh Lane, Devonshire area was actually an imitation firearm.
Officers immediately conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area for the male suspect. However he was not located – but the motorcycle involved has been impounded.
Inquiries continue and any witnesses, residents or motorists that saw any suspicious activity in the Middle Road, Marsh Lane Devonshire area approximately 9:45pm Thursday, April 19th are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477 at the earliest opportunity.
