Around 11:30am today (April 12th) police officers were dispatched to an incident involving a heavy truck on Middle Road in Devonshire.

It appears that the heavy truck was being driven in the eastbound lane of Middle Road when it pulled down overhead communication lines near the junction with Brighton Hill Road.

Temporary traffic diversions were in effect in the vicinity of Christ Church until technicians from the affected companies arrived on scene to carry out necessary repairs.

Visitor Hurt in Rental Scooter Collision With Car in Sandys Parish

Around 2:30pm Thursday, April 11th police and fellow first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Malabar Road in Sandys parish.

It appears that a rental scooter being ridden in the westbound lane of Malabar Road collided with a car being driven in the opposite direction near Craddock Road.

Apparently the rental scooter rider, a visiting 35 year old American man, was not hurt.

However, his pillion passenger, a visiting 35 year old American woman, was said to have sustained a serious leg injury and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check this morning (April 12th) she was listed in stable condition on a general ward.

The car driver was not hurt. However, both vehicles were damaged.
