Female Motorcyclist Injured in Pembroke Collision Stable in ICU [Updated]

Around 8:30am Tuesday, May 29th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision at the junction of Parsons Road and The Glebe Road in Pembroke.

It appears that a motorcyclist was traveling along Parsons Road and a car driver was traveling along The Glebe Road when the collision occurred as the driver of the car attempted to turn on to Parsons Road.

The injured rider, believed to be a 32 year old Devonshire woman, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check this morning (May 30th) was listed in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

There were no other injuries reported. However, both vehicles involved were damaged.

Update: Thursday, May 31stAt last check this morning (May 31st) the 32 year old female motorcyclist injured in a collision with a car around 8:30am Tuesday, May 29th at the junction of Parsons Road and The Glebe Road in Pembroke remained listed in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. 

Update: Monday, June 4th - At last check this morning (June 4th) the 32 year old female motorcyclist injured in a collision with a car around 8:30am Tuesday, May 29th at the junction of Parsons Road and The Glebe Road in Pembroke had been discharged from the hospital, after initially being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition. Female Visitor Hurt in Rental Scooter Crash Treated & Discharged

Around 9:55am Tuesday, May 29th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a rental scooter crash on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Jennings Road.

Initial information suggested that a car was involved. However, it now appears that the rental scooter was the only vehicle involved.

Apparently the rider, said to be a 61 year old visiting UK woman, was traveling in the eastbound lane of North Shore Road when she struck a fence and ended up down an embankment.

The injured female visitor was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later discharged.

There were no other injuries reported by her pillion passenger (husband).

Traffic was diverted away from the area for approximately an hour while the scene was processed. Witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.
