Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Palmetto Road in Devonshire This Morning

Around 7:10am today (March 26th) a member of the public observed and reported an unconscious man in the trees along Palmetto Road in Devonshire near Dock Hill.

Police and fellow first responders were immediately dispatched to the scene and the man was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

Sadly, he was pronounced dead later this morning.

Traffic was diverted away from the area while the scene was processed by the relevant police officers.

Early information suggests that the deceased, believed to be a 51 year old Pembroke man, was the rider of a motorcycle that crashed over an embankment between Dock Hill and Parsons Lane around 3:40am today. Attempts are still being made to notify next of kin.

This marks the third road fatality for 2019.

Driver Treated & Discharged After Keith Hall Road Car Crash

Around 6pm Monday, March 25th police and fellow first responders attended a reported single vehicle car crash on Keith Hall Road in Warwick near the junction with Harbour Road.

It appears that the car driver involved, said to be a 34 year old Devonshire man, struck a wall in the vicinity of Ravello Garden Lane.

The driver was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and later discharged.

The car was damaged and there were temporary traffic delays in the area following the crash. Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.
