Drug Seizure

More than half a million dollars-worth of suspected illegal drugs seized in joint operation involving the Bermuda Police Service and H.M. Customs.

The protracted exercise dubbed Operation Triton, also resulted in four arrests as well as more than fourteen thousand dollars in cash.

The joint initiative included the police Drugs Unit, Intelligence Department and Gang Targeting Unit, working alongside our HM Customs partners.

Among the items seized were suspected cocaine, cannabis, molly (MDMA) and heroin.

Superintendent Nicholas Pedro, Officer in charge (OIC) Serious Crime, stated:

“The investigation into this significant seizure remains ongoing and as such no further information will be provided at this time.

However, I wish to commend our hard working officers and their colleagues at H.M. Customs for their diligence and use of extensive intelligence gathering and investigative capabilities to prevent the potential threat these items could have posed to the wider community, were they not detected and made it on to the streets.”
