The passing of former Commissioner of Police Frederick “Penny” Bean OBE QPM represents a monumental loss for the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) and the local community at large.

To pay honour and respect to the first Bermudian Commissioner of Police, a number of tributes have been organised within the BPS and publicly to celebrate his life and legacy.

On Friday, December 14th from 9am until 4pm there will be an official condolence book placed at Hamilton Police Station for BPS staff and members of the community to sign.

All police flags will be flown at half-mast from 8am Friday until 8pm Monday.

The funeral for Commissioner Bean will held at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street in the City of Hamilton 2pm Monday, December 17th.

Driver Injured in North Shore Road Crash Remains Stable in ICU

At last check this morning (December 13th) the 49 year old male driver seriously injured in a single vehicle car crash on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the north gate of Government House at 10:08am Wednesday, December 12th remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are still asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Siblings Hurt in Violent Domestic Incident Treated & Discharged

A 26 year old woman hurt in a reported violent domestic incident at a Quarry Road, Hamilton parish home around 10:10am Wednesday, December 12th has since been discharged from the hospital after receiving medical treatment.

Her 20 year old brother, who was also injured, had already been treated and discharged.
