Cement Truck Overturned on Seabright Avenue [Updated]

Around 9am today (November 21st) police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel responded to a report of an overturned cement truck on Seabright Avenue in Paget, near the junction with South Road.

It appears that the driver, believed to be a 41 year old Southampton man, was temporarily trapped in the vehicle before being extracted by police, conscious and breathing.

He has been taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of suspected non-life threatening injuries.

An update on his condition will be provided in due course.

Works & Engineering personnel also attended the scene and a crane is on site to assist with the removal of the overturned cement truck.

As a result, some traffic disruption is expected to continue along a section of Seabright Avenue until further notice.

Update: Wednesday, November 22nd - At last check earlier this morning (November 22nd) the 41 year old Southampton man injured when the cement truck he was driving overturned on Seabright Avenue in Paget around 9am Tuesday was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

The damaged cement truck was eventually removed from the scene and roadside barriers were put in place for the safety of motorists traveling along the affected section of Seabright Avenue.
