BPS Tribute Vehicle to Highlight Cancer Awareness

Mon, 2018-10-29

The scourge of cancer has had a profound impact on Bermuda over the years and the Bermuda Police Service is not immune to the impact of the awful disease. Many of our staff have battled the disease and are now survivors and others have sadly lost their lives to cancer. October and November are two months set aside for cancer awareness. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and November is Men's Health Awareness Month with a focus on Prostate Cancer.

It is to that end that the Bermuda Police Service has partnered with Noble Automotive Ltd., Autobahn Accessories and students from Cedarbridge Academy to create a "Tribute Vehicle" that highlights cancer awareness and also pays tribute to Police Officer Latasha Gibson who lost her life to cancer last year.

Tomorrow, Tuesday October 30th at 11am the vehicle will be formally handed over to the Bermuda Police Service at Noble Automotive in Prospect (in the back of Cedarbridge Academy) and on Wednesday, October 31st from 12pm until 2pm over 100 female police officers and police staff will converge on City Hall where the Tribute Vehicle will be on display.
