Arrest of a Serving Police Officer & Member of Public

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can confirm the arrest of a 27-year-old female Police Officer & a 43-year-old male from Smith’s Parish. The officer who serves in our Hamilton Patrol Department, was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to defeat justice. The male was arrested for the same offence.

Detectives from our Specialist Investigations Department are investigating the matter, and no comment will be made while the investigation is ongoing.

Commissioner Corbishley stated: ‘I am confident that the BPS is a professional public service with integrity. However, it is essential that each and every day we protect the public’s trust in our services and when serious wrong doing is suspected it will be investigated robustly to identify the facts of the matter’.
