The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can confirm that service to the 911 emergency telephone number has been restored.

However, technicians continue working to restore service to the main police telephone number 295-0011.

A power outage incident at the BPS Data Centre this morning caused 911 and 295-0011 to fail.

The situation is being addressed as a priority and the public will be informed when service is fully restored.

The BPS apologises for any inconvenience caused and we thank the public for their understanding while repairs are carried out.

Update: Thursday, May 16th - The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can now confirm that most services have been restored – including 911 and 295-0011 – after a power outage incident around 6am Wednesday, May 15th.

On initial inspection there does not appear to be any data loss and full system restoration is anticipated by Monday, May 20th.

However, technicians will continue to closely monitor the BPS data centre over the coming days to ensure system stability.

The BPS would like to sincerely thank the technical vendors and our staff for all their assistance – as well as the public, for their patience and cooperation, while the necessary repairs were made.
