Burglary

Mon, 2006-05-08

At 7:15pm on Monday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Knapton Close, Smith's parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 2:30pm and 5pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole a laptop computer, a camcorder, U.S. $200 in cash, U.K. 50 pounds in cash, a radio and a pair of pearl stud earrings.

Arrest

At 2:50 this morning, Police attended an alarm activation at the Gosling's Warehouse on Dundonald Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed a man on the property who attempted to make good his escape. However, officers gave chase and apprehended the suspect, a 36 year old Southampton man.

Injury RTC

At 3pm today, Police received a report of a serious single vehicle road traffic collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Trinity Church Road.

Fatal RTC

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 53 year old Michael James Douglas of Pembroke. Around 4:45pm on Friday, Police attended a fatal road traffic collision at the junction of Bishop Spencer Road and Palmetto Road in Pembroke, involving a pedal cycle and a truck.

Robbery

Thu, 2006-05-04

At 5:10 this morning, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 46 year old taxi driver from Pembroke, picked up two men on One Way Deep Dale in Pembroke and drove them to the Ice Queen in Paget. At Ice Queen a third man got into the taxi. The taxi driver then drove the three men to Hermitage Road in Devonshire, where he was instructed to stop.

Injury RTC

Wed, 2006-05-03

At 5:20 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick, near the junction with Tamarind Vale. It appears that a white Mitsubishi taxi was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver, a 53 year old Pembroke man lost control of the vehicle, mounting the sidewalk and colliding with a boulder.

Traffic Offences

A specific initiative is underway by the Bermuda Police Service in conjunction with the Transport Control Department (TCD) to enforce the laws regarding vehicles on our roads. On Tuesday, May 2, 2006 the following traffic checks were conducted, resulting in several tickets being issued to motorists.
