The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 30 year old Aquil Richardson of Southampton. Mr. Richardson was fatally shot around 9pm on Wednesday, December 26th in the Camp Hill, Southampton area, while a 25 year old Warwick man was also shot in the lower extremities. The Warwick man is currently in stable condition at KEMH. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.
Around 5:20 this morning, Police received a report of a burglary at a Forest Hill Drive, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime earlier he was awoken by noises inside his hone. When he went to investigate, he discovered that an unknown culprit had gained entry.
(Today is the second consecutive day on which we have received reports of a firearm being used in the Southampton area).
The latest incidents are as follows: Around 9pm today, Police received a report of a shooting in the Camp Hill, Southampton area. Details are unclear at the moment, however a 30 year old Southampton man was fatally shot, while a 25 year old Warwick man was shot in the lower extremities and is presently receiving treatment at KEMH for his injury.
Around 12:20 this morning, Police received a report of an incident involving a firearm in the Camp Hill, Southampton area. It appears that the victim, a 24 year old Pembroke man, sustained a single gunshot wound; however, the injury is not believed to be life threatening. He is currently in stable condition at KEMH. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Around 6:40pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a fire at A.S. Cooper Home on Church Street in the City of Hamilton. The Bermuda Fire Service was already at the scene and subsequently extinguished the fire, which was confined to the A.S. Cooper Home section of the building. There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this time. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
At 6pm on Friday, Police received a report of the fast ferry ‘Cecil B. Smith colliding with the Rockaway ferry dock in Southampton. On arrival at the Hamilton ferry terminal, officers spoke with the pilot of the ferry, a 37 year old Sandys parish man.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 44 year old Robert John James of Smiths parish. Mr. James body was found at the bottom of his homes pool by a family member Thursday morning. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.
