At 3:50pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near Barnes Corner involving a car and a truck. It appears that both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on Middle Road when the car attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided with the truck.
Around 8:05am on Tuesday, Police received a report of a vehicle taken without its owners consent. The complainant stated that the red vehicle for disabled persons was removed from outside ‘Summer Haven on South Road in Smiths parish. The vehicle was last seen around 11:55pm on Monday; however, it has reportedly been seen since in the Broken Hill, Smiths parish area.
Police can now confirm the arrest of a 20 year old Pembroke man in the Middletown, Pembroke area yesterday. However, contrary to some media reports, the Pembroke man was not in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest.
Three men are currently in custody assisting Police with their inquiries into the Christmas & Boxing Day shootings.
Officers investigating these matters have received many calls from members of the public offering information regarding the shootings. As a result, several lines of inquiry are being followed up.

The Bermuda Police Service is aware that there are many events taking place tonight across the island to celebrate the arrival of the New Year, 2008. As such, Police will be actively patrolling in various areas throughout the island overnight and into the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 1, 2008.
