Injury RTC - Around 9:15pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and South Road in Southampton involving a car and a taxi. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road and the taxi was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, a 30 year old Southampton man, was not injured. The driver of the taxi, a 68 year old Warwick man, sustained bruising to his chest. There were three passengers in the taxi at the time and it appears that two of them were injured. However, all three passengers were taken to KEMH via ambulance for assessment.

Handbag Snatch - Around 11:30pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a handbag snatch on Trimingham Road in Paget. The victim, a 33 year old Paget woman, stated that she was riding south on Trimingham Road when an unknown man on a motorcycle rode up and grabbed her handbag. As a result the Paget woman and her motorcycle fell to the ground and the suspect made good his escape with the handbag. The victim sustained abrasions to her arms and legs; however, she declined to go to KEMH for treatment. The black handbag contained a quantity of cash, a BlackBerry cellular phone, a Nokia cellular phone and personal items.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to use care, caution and courtesy on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and those traveling on motorcycles to fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 16 year old Tiffany Johnson of Pembroke. The teenager was last seen at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, 2nd May 2009 when she left her residence to attend church practice at the Salvation Army Citadel on North Street in Pembroke.

She was last seen wearing a white top, blue jeans and white flip-flops and may frequent the White Hill, Sandy’s parish area. Tiffany is described as brown skinned of slim build, approximately 5’5” tall with shoulder length black hair which may be in a ponytail.

Press Conference Regarding Anti-Social Behaviour in St. David's

Around 7:45pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported disturbance in the St. David’s area. It appears that the disturbance involving a large group of men started at the junction of Southside Road, Cooper’s Island Road and Pepper Hall Road in St. George’s. As a result eight men have been arrested and three men were treated for injuries to the body including blunt force trauma and puncture wounds. These injuries appear to be non-life threatening. One of the victims is still receiving treatment at KEMH while the two other injured individuals were treated and released.

Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 1am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision at the junction of Middle Road and White Hill Lane in Sandy’s parish. It appears that a car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver lost control and collided with a utility pole. The driver then left the scene prior to Police arrival. The car sustained extensive front end damage. The collision caused power failure in the immediate area. A Sandy’s parish man, believed to be the driver of the car at the time of the collision, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving in connection with this incident.

May 3 - Weekend Report

Injury RTC - At 3:35 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Dundonald Street and Cedar Avenue in Pembroke involving a car and an SUV. It appears that the car was traveling along Dundonald Street and the SUV was traveling along Cedar Avenue when the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, a 29 year old St. George’s woman, sustained cuts to her left hand and pain in her right shoulder. The car’s passengers, two 28 year old Devonshire women, sustained pain to the left shoulder and a cut to the left hand as well as pain to the left arm respectively.
