On Wednesday, July 18, 2007 Works & Engineering will be placing the new bridge section across the Causeway starting at 8am. It is unknown how long the project will take. As such, this area will be closed to marine traffic between Ferry Reach and Castle Harbour as a safety precaution. The Marine Police will monitor the start of the work and the area throughout the day, to ensure all mariners adhere to the safety warning.

Damage Only RTC

Around 12:55pm today, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision near the junction of Point Pleasant Road and Front Street in the City of Hamilton. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear; however, it appears that a car traveling on Point Pleasant Road accidentally collided with some parked motorcycles/auxiliary cycles resulting in damage only to the vehicles. Apparently the driver of the car was not injured. Therefore no further Police action is anticipated.

Burglary

At 12:10pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Cobbs Hill Road, Warwick premises. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime during the early morning hours of Saturday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole a quantity of various food items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 6:20pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Pearmans Hill, Warwick residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 8:15am and 2:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
